It took me a while to figure out the controls. I right clicked and couldn't move, so i quit, came back later. Then I accelerated and moved, figured it out. But I kept crashing into things, so I gave up on the game.
Maybe if there was a mode where you can freely explore and do the trades, without having to worry about dying, like an infinite health mode. And the controls to be more clear. And maybe if this game was in 3D, with first person shooter controls, like WASD to move, uh, and so on.
It looks like an interesting game, but my energy ran out figuring out the controls, and I kept crashing the ship, so i didn't get to experience it fully
Thanks for the review! Not sure what was going on with those graphics errors, but glad to see that it worked in the end :)
The static map was a bit of an unfortunate compromise, given the time frame we weren't confident we'd be able to get interesting city generation done in time without sacrificing a lot of other ideas. Designing the city turned out to take a ton of time regardless though, but we're quite happy with the interesting situations that the layout of the city creates
We did consider having a marker on the map for the player, but thought it would be more interesting to leave it as a navigational challenge to find your location. Especially with the static map, it's possible to learn the map and begin to navigate using landmarks and such. We got quite used to the map by the end of the jam, so this was quite natural for us, but perhaps expecting players to be able to pick up an intuitive feel for map position was a bit much.

Doesn't run for me, says it's missing some DLLs.
Thank you very much for reporting this, have now uploaded some versions that should be working :)
